The astrology of 2024 will call for our collective agency.
The ability to coordinate our beliefs, emotions, motivations and skills into action that achieves our desired goals is largely determined by our perceived ability. What we think we are capable of becomes the glass ceiling. Saturn in Pisces is moving close enough to Neptune this year that we will begin to butt up against the limits of our collective imagination as well as the limitations brought upon by our delusions. NEW DREAMS WANTED.
The North Node remains in Aries throughout the year. Aries is the initiatory spark of life. The matchstick. The energy of a sprouting seed. Aries needs the support of the life around it to grow — a new flame needs tending to if it’s to thrive. Libra says focus on the other, Aries says focus on me. With eclipses continuing to occur with an Aries / Libra nodal axis, we are releasing Libran shadows and fortifying the Aries energy in our charts and lives. The Aries in all of us needs to sprout. This is our agency, our self-advocacy, our inner warrior. It’s the part of us that trusts the wisdom of seemingly futile, foolish bravery. So much of what is born in the spring doesn’t last to see the next — but the only way is still through. We’ve got to try.
This is going to be a historic decade and 2024 is the ‘turning point’ that leads to 2025-27.
2020-21 was a lesson on the details of global interconnectivity. We are now more sensitive to how everything really does fit together. We are more sensitive to how information (or really, anything) is spread and circulated across the planet.
2022-23 was a lesson in connection — interpersonally, to our body, to the planet. Values, power dynamics, resources — of our body, in our relationships, in our governments, of our world.
2024 feels like a lesson in agency, bravery, the ability to act on what we’ve built the past several years. Can we trust our reactions? Can we trust our desires? Can we trust our instincts? Can we move from that spark within us against all odds?

Month-to-month playbook of what to expect this year:
The collective / broad picture is the focus here — but all of this is happening somewhere specific to you and can be mapped out in much more specific and instructive detail in an individual reading. Collective astrology, to me, is about curiosity and context. My individual readings are designed for your personal empowerment.

January:
January 1st Mercury went direct and January 4th Mars entered Capricorn. On the 11th we have our first New Moon (in Capricorn) of the year and on the 20th the Sun and Pluto enter Aquarius together. This month is a GET UR SHIT TOGETHER MONTH in the best way. The energy, ambition and motivation are there.
Discipline is just remembering what you want.
On the 23rd Venus enters Capricorn as well — 4 to 5 planets at this point, so much initiatory, build it / fix it energy. On the 25th we have our first Full Moon of the year (in Leo) and on the 27th Uranus goes direct. At this point we are set up for February where all of the planets are direct. January through March will be fast as f***, boi! January is the Capricorn energy — building strong foundations that can last.
January is also the first time Pluto will enter Aquarius this year — probably the biggest moment of the month. We got a brief taste of this last March.
Pluto in Aquarius
Pluto shows us the collective shadow for evolutionary purposes. Pluto transforms. Once something has been transformed it is forever changed. Once meat has been cooked it will never again be raw. Once a butterfly emerges from the chrysalis, it will never be a caterpillar again.
Butterflies are such a great example of transmutation because they literally break down into goo in the chrysalis. They dissolve into their smallest components and are reconfigured into something new. This is alchemy! Pluto is collective alchemy.
Pluto in Aquarius is: Artificial Intelligence, Alien Disclosure, the hidden power of Groups / Communities / Organizations, Scientific Discoveries, Space Discoveries, Technology, Humanitarian Efforts, Tribalism vs Common Humanity.
Pluto is now opposing Leo — condensed power (in a crown, a king, an individual, a celebrity) vs. collective power. Pluto in Aquarius is also associated with many political revolutions.
One of the previous occurrences of Pluto in Aquarius was when Copernicus’s Heliocentric theory was being hotly debated — literally when we were starting to realize we were not the center of the universe…
I would not be surprised if over the next 20 years a similar groundbreaking realization about the nature of reality and our place in it unfolds.
This Pluto transit lasts a long time. Each Pluto transit represents a generation. The Leo Pluto people were the Boomers. They are now having the rare occurrence of their natal Pluto being opposed. The Millennials are having their Pluto square. The friction between Millennials and this Pluto transit is what will spark the alchemical fires. Gen-Z, your natal Pluto (in Sagittarius) will be sextiling Pluto in Aquarius — this is a big opportunity to use collaboration to empower yourselves. We need you!
